Build around the confirmed activity

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Rwenzori Mountains National Park are separate UNESCO properties. For a wildlife-focused visit, establish the actual authorized activity, date, location and requirements before booking surrounding accommodation. For a mountain journey, ask for a route and support plan designed for your experience. These are not interchangeable excursions. A permit or guide reservation should specify what it covers; never assume a general park name secures a particular activity or encounter.

Give Buganda heritage its own time

The Kasubi tombs in Kampala are a significant cultural and spiritual site, not simply an architectural stop. UNESCO describes a former royal palace transformed into a burial place and emphasizes the continuing importance of belief and identity. Ask about current visitor arrangements and follow custodians’ guidance on dress, photography and access. A meaningful visit should leave time for interpretation rather than use the site as a brief filler before an airport transfer.

Do not compress the west into one short loop

A map can make several western destinations look easy to combine while concealing transfer demands. Request named overnight bases, actual road or flight arrangements and the time reserved for the main activity. If gorilla trekking is the reason for travelling, ask about fitness, age, health and cancellation requirements directly rather than relying on an older blog. Avoid promising sightings or assuming that a missed activity can simply be moved to the following day.

Check the regional combination independently

A Rwanda or Kenya extension needs its own entry, transport and activity checks. Do not assume a regional trip has one set of rules or that a provider can substitute a border crossing for a cancelled flight. Verify current official health and travel advice shortly before departure, and discuss appropriate insurance for the activities booked. Keep a buffer before your international flight.
