Start with city, coast or desert
A Tunis-based visit, a coastal holiday and a Sahara route serve different travel goals. Choose one as the core of your trip. Add another only after checking the transfers and hotel changes; a country map is more useful here than a checklist of attractions.
Give heritage visits their own time
For Carthage, museums and other heritage stops, ask which sites a guided visit actually includes. Check current opening arrangements and whether admissions are part of the quote. Leave room for meals and walking breaks instead of treating several distinct sites as one quick stop.
Specify the southern route
Tunisia’s tourism office highlights Douz, desert landscapes and oasis experiences. Ask an excursion provider for the named overnight locations, transport type, driving stages and activities. Confirm what happens if conditions require a route change. A desert excursion should not be assumed to be a short transfer from a northern beach hotel.
Compare resort and independent stays
Read meal-plan terms, transfer details and room occupancy rules before comparing prices. For a more independent itinerary, check how you will reach your next base and where a local guide meets you. A hotel booking does not automatically include the heritage or desert experiences shown in destination photographs.
