Understand the Island of Mozambique
UNESCO’s island property is a historic trading settlement with a distinctive architectural fabric shaped by stone and macuti building traditions. It deserves interpretation of trade, people and urban life rather than only a coastal photograph. Ask what a guided visit includes and which buildings are accessible. Leave room for walking and conversation. Do not assume that a property described as a Mozambique island stay is located on this particular island.
Keep southern and northern plans separate
The country inventory also includes Maputo National Park within a transboundary natural inscription, while the Quirimbas Archipelago appears on the tentative list. These are different regions and travel decisions. Their appearance together on a heritage page is not an endorsement of a coast-long itinerary.
